Cornell Club of Washington

The Cornell Club of Washington (CCW) is an independent non-profit organization that offers programs and activities to engage alumni, students, parents, and friends of Cornell University in the greater Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.

CCW is the largest volunteer-run Cornell organization in the world. CCW’s primary activity is publicizing events to local alumni and other interested parties, but the “webmaster bottleneck”? the need to involve a developer for any change on the site? was inhibiting the club’s ability to keep it updated and of use to its audience.

Lattice Group personnel implemented a Drupal site which addressed both needs: a browser-based WYSIWYG editor that would allow designated persons to add and update events and other content on the website, and flexible search and filtering options that allow visitors to find items of interest quickly and easily. Listings, maps, and calendars are automatically generated based on system settings and user preferences. A basic payment system using PayPal is also implemented.
